i have seen cars on tables with the wheels and tires in place but it looks like the rebuilders made their own wheels for mock ups. ive seen people made wood mock ups or even a full wheel from steel BOLTED to the rearend. i have also seen pictures with jus the rear tire in place with no wheel or even a rear end. my question is.... if i dont have the money for wheels right now, but need them to start my project, whats the best way i can mock up my 69 chevelle 12bolt. im in the process of ls1 swapping and ordering my air ride system soon i jus need wheels. what materials should be used to make full on wheels i could bolt on. i looked all over this forum for writeups about this but dont seem to find any. maybe im jus putting the wrong key words. any advice is appreciated.

What are you trying to set up?

If all you need to do is get it centered under the car and at ride height I would say you can use whatever wheels you have around. Just take all of your measurements off the housing.

All you would need is tires of equal height between to two sides, if you are setting ride height you will want the tires to be close to the same height as you intend to use on the finished project.

i am looking to run 19/20" combo with the deepest offset i can get with my 12 bolt and ride techs system. the car rite now is a stock 69 roller no moror or trans. the thing i dnt understand is i just need the tires to throw under there to start measuring? and how would i get ride height if im changing the suspension to air ride? im asuming the motor and trans needs to be in to measure the front? thanks tim
