I am looking into a disc brake swap for my 64 chevelle. I currently have drums all around, and I found a kit for C4 rotors and C5 calipers. The kit says it requires spindles with a 5/8" upper anchor bolt. I'd rather not take my brakes apart to measure mine, so I was hoping someone could tell me if the upper anchor on the 64 spindle is 1/2" or 5/8". Would a 68 Camaro drum spindle have a 5/8" upper anchor? Thanks again, guys!

Why not get ATS spindles and take care of multiple problems all at once ?

They're just a little bit out of my budget.
With out pulling it out, I don't know of any other way to tell. If you do a full C5 swap the adapter can be made out of plate and does not require the machined adapter. The C4/C5 will give you a few more wheel options but most of your custom wheels will fit or can be ordered to fit C5 brakes.

I'd prefer the C5 setup, but I just got wheels for my car in December. The boss would not approve a new set just yet.

I think I'll try to find a used set of spindles just to be safe. Probably lead to less downtime that way, anyway.

1964 A-body should be 1/2-20 upper mounting boss assuming they're original.

Thanks. I found a set of 68 Camaro drum spindles on fleabay for 99 cents plus shipping. They should be here in a few days.
