Posted this on Protouringmopar, figured I'd put it up here too. I think The Road Runner is putting me at a bit of a disadvantage, LOL.

As most know, there is always great contention about how much our vehicles weigh. Figured we should have a bit of a post, since I was playing with the scales at work today and had some fun.

What do you expect? It's a B-body, not an A-body.

LOL, actually, the 62 is a B-body too, lol.

Well, whatever. the Roadrunner is just a heavy car.

Im not positive on this but Im pretty sure my bare shell of a '68 Charger weighs somewhere around 600 pounds. I want to confirm that tho but if thats true there are a lot of bolt on's there that could be left off making you much faster

You think you're at a disadvantage:

'66 Pontiac A-body convertible.
462ci pontiac standard block, aluminum heads, forged everything.
Full 3" exhaust, full interior
Moser 12 bolt, aluminum driveshaft, TKO600
Wilwood brakes, battery relocated, tons of insulation
Power steering, manual brakes

3720lbs but almost 50/50 weight distribution

1967 El Camino, all steel, SBC, aluminum heads & water pump, iron block, 2x4 crossram intake, Richmond 5-speed, 3" exhaust, aluminum radiator, manual brakes/steering, no heat or a/c, heavy Soft-8 wheels (39-40 lbs each), 10-bolt, 3-link rear suspension, C5 & LS1 brakes. 3362 lbs with full tank of gas. Never did get chance to weigh it with the V45 wheels, probably closer to 3300 lbs with them.

Hell I am right around 4000lbs with the wagon. It was 4260lbs last time I weighed it. But I have taken a bunch off the nose and it is noticable as the nose has come up a bit. I saved close to 50lbs alone with the aluminum hood and hinges. But all that being said it was a blast to drive on the track. I was really conncerned with how heavy it was but now realize it doesn't matter as much as long as you are having fun with it and the car is balanced in it's handling.

I'm at 3580 before I put in the race belts and cross bar. Disadvantage to some, not all.

The Fab53 Camaro aka 67 zo6 Camaro Convt.

Full frame front to back, no top and no side windows
LS6 motor and T56 trans
Coil over front and rear with a 9" and Strange aluminum center section
Some fiberglass parts

3137 lbs with a full tank of gas at 51% nose weight
3310 lbs with a full tank of gas at 50.2% nose weight and my fat ass.

I was also hoping lower, but if I take the gas out (+-14 gal at 8lbs) it is a little closer to my goal. I have a few ideas of losing another 100 lbs and transfering weight to back.

3150 lb. and a bit of carpet and a few more braces to go.
can't lose any more that I can find. I need to install the rear swaybar and that will ad some but if I get a hollow bar up front and one for the rear I shouldn't gain any weight.

I'm at 51/49 for the most part but when I get in and the tank is full is probably goes the other way.

I am not so much thinking about less weight these days as I am more power to pull it.

1969 Camaro, full Marquez interior with sound deadening
Anvil inner fenders, AMD aluminum hood.
LS engine
DSE Subframe, Quadralink

Weighed in at Del Mar Goodguys thanks to Rob at No Limit for providing the scales and the RideTech crew for providing the space. The car was about 3420ish lbs. with a half tank of gas.

With a full tank of gas and me in it, it would probably weigh a tad over 3600 lbs with 48/52 front rear distribution. The cross weight was horrible though, and I'd like to remeasure because I can't figure out why it would be so different.

I finally weighed my 2000 Dakota R/T, total was 4140 lbs with approx 2600+ lbs on the front alone. No wonder it tends to push the front tires, 275/50/17 tires aren't big/wide enough.
