Hey folks, I'm really loving this site. Well I have a 1983 Cutlass Supreme G body. I am wanting to know what is the biggest size wheels I can run on it. I've been doing some researching and reading and I think I want to do something in 18x8 front & 18x9 rear. I know the Grand National and Monte SS guys make this work but their fenders are shaped differently. I am concerned that this set up may hit the frame. I need back spacing #'s or whatever info you all can provide. I'm running the Moog S-10 springs front, I think 5662, with S-10 Bilstein shocks. I have to see with rears are;should be the Moog A body springs rear, G body Bilstein shocks in the back. Stock brake for now.

Not 100% on what front inner wheel-tubs your car has, or if they are the same as the Monte SS, Grand Prix.
For the Monte, a 8" wheel on the front, 4.5" bs tucks the wheel just inside of the wheel tub bolts, giving a bit more room to run lowered. a 2" drop usually encounters no rubbing.
A 17x8, 4.5" bs with 245/45/17 or convert that to a 18x8 4.5" bs, 245/40/18
If you run lower than 3" you may have to make some custom front inner fenders, or reduce
the front tire to 235.
On the rear, the SS has just a hair over 5.0", so a 17x9 or 17x9.5 with 5.0 backspace works well.
It should fit a 275/40/17 or 275/35/18 on the back with a 5.0" bs.
Several G-body owners note that the rear axle/body/frame is sometimes off from one side to the other, so you may need a 1/4" spacer on one side.
As far as biggest wheelss? I have seen 20" and even 22" fit on F&R, at stock height with 255/35/22, no rubbing.
If you are running a 17 or 18" wheel, the prior specs should work well. :cheers:

Thanks Dave, you're Super!!! I've heard too about those 20's/22's being able to fit at stock ride height. I definitely don't want to do any cutting or lifting so I may stick 18"s for now though I am exploring the possibility of a 19" frt / 20" rr combo.
