      Seats: BMW E36 vs E46

If you had to chose which seat is a better fit for a 68 Camaro a BMW E36 or E46, my choices are E36's (electric, no heat) or E46 (Manual). If anyone has pictures of either it would help!

If you can get convertible seats they will have the 3-point seat belt built into the seat. If you don't want the three-point belts you should at least get coupe seats since they fold up unlike sedan seats to make it easier to get in the back. Check out the thread below. There are a couple more threads if you search.

Go with the E46 manuals as the manual seats are much lighter (plus you don't have to worry about the plastic gears in them failing & you having to take your seat apart to replace a broken gear)... & yes make sure they are out of a coupe (coupes generally have IS at the end of the model numbers ie 328is or 330is..) Seats w/built in seat belts will be in the newer model M3's (E46 & above... meaning 2001 or above if I am remembering my BMWs correctly).
