Anybody used something like this before and know where to get just a bushing? If you're unsure what it is, this is used as an "insert" into the steering arm/knuckle on the spindle and will allow a non-tapered bolt to go through the hole to use a rod end rather than a typical tie-rod end. I'm having a hard time finding something that I can use to change from a tie rod to a rod end and relocate the rod end from the above the steering arm to below. Don't have pics but can get them tomorrow if this isn't making sense. Thanks for any help.

check speedway motors.

Also you could ream out the hole to the exact size of the bolt. So a 1/2" bolt really measures .496"

I have a feeling reaming is going to be the way I need to go. I found this at Speedway...

which would work great but I need the taper to go the opposite direction. On the Viper knuckle, the OEM tie rod sits on top of the steering arm so the hole tapers down. I need it to be opposite. I also found this which looks like it might be perfect, if it's not for the $460 "Viper" price tag...

Considering that price seems pretty out of line to me (not that it isn't quality), I think reaming will have to be the way to go.

You could have a machine shop make something on the lathe in a few hours. As long as you make a drawing with the correct taper angle. That might cost you a couple hundred at most.

Thanks Bryce. I hadn't thought about checking with a machine shop. I'll look into it.
