Appropriate brakes for sub 3k pound car

I will be installing the tci mustang Ifs on my Falcon and before I place the order I need to figure out the brakes. For a sub 3000# car do I need the 6 piston 13" wilwoods or will the 12" four pistons be plenty for street and autocross. I love the look of the big mama brakes but the extra $1100 could be better spent on other parts of the project. Your thoughts? Will I regret going 12" later? Or is it a prudent move for such a light car? I have wilwood 12" four pistons on my 3500lb Subaru and they seem to hold their own both on the street and track although they use the larger of the wilwood 4 piston offerings, larger than those offered by tci. I guess the root of it is, how much are bigger brakes function and how much is for looks?

I think it will all come down to usage. The 12" from Wilwood even with the 4 piston dynalites stop very very well. In fact most of the testing we've done has shown a difference in 60-0 of less than 10 feet between the 12" and 13". The difference will be in how much they resist heat. We have never had any fade issues with the 13" 6 piston in autocross situations with the Camaro(3300 lbs) and that includes hot lapping it in Vegas and Phoenix. The car literally went non stop all day Saturday in Vegas with 4 different drivers and 40+ runs. The 12" have shown heat fade after a handful of hot laps on the autocross. As long as you have cool down time between runs the 12" will serve you very well without breaking the budget.

Something else to keep in mind. The jump in price from 13" to 14" is very minimal compared to the 12" to 13" jump so if you decide to do the 13" kit you may as well spend the extra few duckets and get the 14" kit.
