I'm looking to put new tires on my 73 Camaro I'm looking to do 255/40r18s for the front and 255/40r20s on the rear can y'all recommend a good tire available in those sizes? Is there a better tire for the front and the rear?? I'm not really going to be racing just some aggressive street driving. Tread wear is not a care it's not my daily and even my daily has huge low mile tires on it so I guess it's not really something I care about. Lol. Thanks for the help guys...
Hello,
Matching rubber will be hard to find in those sizes. How about 25545R18, and 25545R20?

What sizes wheels are you working with? A 255/45/18 will look pretty tall (27") on the front of a second gen with a 18" wheel. Depending on the rear wheel size, you can go wider 275/35/20 fairly easy on the 73. Give me a call at the shop if you have time and we can help find something that will work and fit the car right.

Agreed 255/45/18 is too big for the front.. Not sure a 275/35/20 will fit the rear either its got 255/55/17s on the rear now, also just barely clears 28/10.5/15s had to roll the fender lips for those..

A 275/35/20 will fit behind a 2nd gen. We normally run up to a 285. The wheels width and backspace will dictate the tire size that will fit. PM or post the width and BS and how much to plan to lower the car and I can help figure out what will fit.

Hello,
You can do the following:
24540R18 Front 25.72 O.D. (Compared to the 25540R18 O.D. 26.04) Difference of 0.32"
25540R20 Rear 28.04 O.D.
24540R18 Sidewall Height: 3.86"
25540R20 Sidewall Height: 4.02"
With your 18x7 Front and 20x8.5 Rear the sidewall bulge will relatively be the same.

Hello,
In a matching set that I carry would be the Yokohama Advan Sport. Let me know if you like the look of the tire, and if you need a quote let me know.

You can also go to TireRack's site and plug in two sizes and it will list all the tires they carry that are available in both sizes.
