Ok so i was looking and have found some z06 drivetrain with suspension and everything minus the body. The abs and everything is still hooked up. I researched it and the vette has a 104" wheelbase and the truck is 114". I know the driveshaft and everything will need to be stretched. I was wondering how this would work in the truck transaxle and everything. I know the center frame rail was cut when they removed the vette body. I woder if this complete drivetrain can be incorpated on the 57 is the center frames are rebuilt to make the body work correctly. Has this been done or has anyone attempted it? If it can be made work then you could have a good drive train and suspension for alot cheaper. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Here is one of many threads about this build.

Yeah like that but the frame doesn't have to be quite like that. It doesn't have to be that over the top. i am just wanting to do something basic. It would be nice to get the abs and everything from the vette that is still hooked up to work on the truck. I think this is the route I am going to go because for what you can buy some of the complete drive trains for is fairly cheap, and I figure the truck has alot of room to work as well for mods.

I have also looked at Hotrod Jim's pt 57 truck and liked it. Is there anyway around building one of these high end frames to do this?

I guess I am biased but the amount of time and energy you'll put into the stock frame to adapt the Vette pickup points you might as well replace it with something stronger to take full advantage of the suspension.

I seen where hotrod Jims was going to offer this. Does TCI offer something like this? Or will it have to be a custom piece.

The main structure of our frames and center section typically remain the same but the rest is customizable. Not to long ago I was researching plates for the C5/C6 transaxle/rearend so you can run a traditional transmission with the C5/6 rearend. I kept getting dead ends but if this option is available out there somewhere it will make both of our lives much easier.
