      LS1 Brakes on 68 Firebird

My understanding is that the rears directly bolt up, how ever what about the fronts? That is my question if i could be linked to another thread, or website. Much Thanks.

I know it has probably been answered before.

edit: What about using the booster?

My firebird is manual brakes and four wheel drums.

Check out John's website (link below-scroll toward the bottom of the page). He did a full LS1 brake conversion on his 67 Firebird.

I used a Kore3 C5 kit on the front (also have ATS AFX spindles) and a 79 Trans AM setup on the rear of my 69.
Kore3 has all the brackets you need if you use the stock spindles. He also has a kit that will work on a 10 or 12 bolt in your 68. The prices are extremely reasonable and flat out work.
My next upgrade will be the 13" rear kit.

I used the adapters made by Speed Tech on my 69 Firebird. I used the LS calipers with 13" Corvette rotors (also had to use the Corvette brackets for the calipers). There are also several sites with a pattern to make your own if you have access to some basic fabrication tools. Quick Performance sells a Ford 9" with the LS flanges that I'm going to use on my next project.
