Few of you guys have seen my 87 Olds Cutlass at Motorstate, day at the strip and RTTH. I figured it was time to give the interior a face lift and add some safety to the car. I decided to install a four point roll bar, install new bucket seats, carpet, console, and 5-point harnesses. I got the new seat installed. The seats are waiting to get into the upholstery shop to be cover in dark blue leather. The roll bar will be going in next week or two. New carpet is ready to be installed and console will be here soon. I attach a few pics of the seat mounted in to car. I'll post more pics when I get more done.

Great looking car Scott. I've always thought the 87s looked the best with the modular headlights. cars like your Cutlass are really pushing me over the edge on building a Gbody next. I had an 86 GP and I think I'd like to get another.

Quick update, getting the new billet steering wheel ready to install. I'm installing billet specialties indy wheel with plain center. I took apart the horn button and machined a pocket in the center to fit the olds rocket emblem in the center. The emblem is from cutlass SSI wheel center. It looks nice as my horn center.

Another update, I got the interior out of the car, new body mount installed, and got the main hoop bend up for the roll bar. I think by next week end the roll bar will be done. Then, I can start to put it back together. Keep tune for more pics and update

I little update on the roll bar install. I was hoping to be a little farther along. I got it all tacked in place and ready to be welded. I built the cage where it can be un-bolted and be removed form the car. Just like a tigercage. The buckets seats are down at kris kustoms being covered in blue leather.

Awesome build man! Looks good! Im in Kalamazoo, About an hour or so away from you. What seats are those? Did they come uncovered? A link to where you got them? Im interested in doing something similar so i can upgrade the performance of the seat, But keep them matching the original rears.

The seats are pro-car elite I purchase them from lane automotive. The got them without covers. I should have bought them with covers. We could have used the covers as a pattern. When I get the seats back I'll post some pictures of them.

I little update on where the project is at. It has took a little long due to customer stuff gets done first. That whats pay the bills. The roll bar is all weld and is at the powder coaters and the seat should be done next week from Krist Kustoms. He send me a pic. of the seat bottoms an they look amazing allready. carpet the interior pcs should be going back in first of the week.

It has been a little bit of work I have the interior back in the cutlass, and the roll bar installed. Just a little bit of small trim piece to install and it will be ready for music city. Take a look at the pics below and see the final results.

An update on a few new items going on the car. After win $250 gift card for DSE products. I ended up pick up a new rear sway bar for the cutlass and had installed in time for Motorstate challenge. It was surprising the improve of handle it did for the car. Last night I received my DSE rear swirl link kit I order in. I hope tonight to install them. I will be at bowler Day at the strip to try out the new DSE parts. I will post some of the pics from the install. I have been really happy with all the DSE part that on the car. Next on the wish list is DSE rear coil over, DSE front controll arms.

Lovely Cutlass! What was all involved in getting the LS1/4l60E combo to work? Love the interior quality put into it. I am starting my 85 Grand Prix's LS1/4l60E swap soon and need any tips you can provide in order to install it and get it running.
