I thought I'd share this cool video of Weld Racing wheels. I guess there are more technical aspects of a wheel design than I thought.

Nice sales vid. The shell though? Do they offer a smooth lip shell in anything other than the standard 8, 10 or 12". Or do they even offer a smooth lip (meaning no step on the outside of the wheel).
When I was looking for wheels the only smooth lip wheels (where the strengthening lip is on the inside, not the outside where you see it) available were in 10 or 12". Thats the common hoops made. I wanted a 11.5" hoop. No such thing standard. Yup, anyone could have modified a 10" hoop but that was 125 bucks each.
Are they producing any smooth liped wheels. Cause if not then they are just running the same old wheels.
And IMO smooth lipped wheels look great. But you cant fit large brake calipers inside of them because the lip is on the inside, the calipers hit. I had a bear of a time fitting large brakes inside of my smooth lip wheels. Got it done, but it was a compromise. JR

I will find out for you and let you know. PTS will start distribution sometime in February.

The Weld Wheels are closer to a traditional "step lip". We have some displays coming and once I get them I will post some detail shots.

Smooth lip is in the works according to Weld.

Yeah, its actually a 3 piece welded wheel too. WELD is unique as in they make all their own components too. I talked to Jay again today at Weld, and we'll have some displays for Show Season to show all of you at GoodGuys events this year... an example of the caliper offset clearances too.
