I'd like to know how well this combo would perform as a year round daily driver. I'm talking DAILY, including all winter (Chicago)... cold morning starts when it's 2 degrees out and hit the road. Stuck in traffic on the highway or in the city... etc.

Looking for opinions on overall drive-ability of this combo:

I'm new to LSx motors, so I'm not sure how 'big' this cam is.

Comp Cam LS1 3633F/3475R HR111+1.
Gross valve lift is .600 intake and .613 exhaust.
Duration at .006 Tappet Lift is 278/293.
Duration at .050 Intake is 228 and Exhaust is 238.
Matching springs, retainers etc...

Chassis dyno tuned 432rwhp 420rwtq

-Fast 92mm Intake Manifold
-180degree thermostat.
-Kooks 3/4 Stainless Steel long tube headers
-Kooks Stainless Steel cat-less mid pipes

I know I'd need to add cats back on to pass emissions.

I'm looking for experience replies. Car is an 05 GTO 6 speed manual trans.

Nick, My GTO LS2 makes a little more HP, but very similar. It now has over 20,000 street and track miles. I drive it daily. No issues. It can't comment on the 2 degree temps, but it runs equally well in the heat or cold.
It pushes my 65 El Camino quickly.

with the tight lsa on the cam it will have a choppier idle as opposed to factory ls cams that have i think 117 lsa or so. in cold weather that could be a issue. iirc that lsa is better suited for a carbd ls motor(that is what lsa mine is on my lsx in my camaro). but with your being fuel injected etc. it should be ok

You'll be fine so long as it is tuned well. Just give it a few minutes to warm up in the mornings. It's not that it needs it so much as it's not good for an engine to be loaded just after starting IMO.

Thanks guys, I got very similar replies from a different forum as well.

Consensus is it should run fine long as it has a good tune on it, and may be a touch rough till it gets some heat in the motor. I researched the engine builder/tuner, they seem to be top notch. http://www.beheperformance.com/
