Help! Need WIDE tires for 18x14.5" wheels

Hey guys, I'm looking for some wide tires to fit on BBS 18x14.5 inch rims for my 69 Firebird project.I'd like to stay under 29 inches tall. I've checked few places ,so far no luck,no Hoosier,or M/T has anything, M/T Sportsman S/R 6685 are discontinued,I can get 6686's,but they are way too tall at 31 inches.

Any idea who might have something that will work?

Hi Stefan,

That's a tough one brother. 335's are only 13.1" wide, and with Mickey discontinuing that tire, your choices are very limited. I'll do a quick search and see what I can find.

Found one.

Michelin slick- 37/71-18; designed for a 14.5 inch wide rim with an 18 inch diameter. Section width is 15.7 inches with a 28 inch overall diameter.

Have fun with that.

I can probably get you 2 M/T 6685's(29X18.00R18LT) . They show 4 in stock. Let me know if you want me to track these down.

Well I have a very nice set of BBS 18x13 and 18x14.5 3 piece wheels with magnesium centers and don't want to cut and narrow them just because I can't find tires I want. I may have to ,but it would be the last resort,I'd rather drive on race slicks,than cut them. I'm always pushing for something a little crazy,so I'm gonna do my best to find the right tires and make these wheels work on my Firebird,it's already widened,but I will have to do more metal work to stretch fenders even more,I'll make a build thread when I'm ready to start,but at this point just gathering all needed parts

Those are some large wheels. What car did they come from. Im thinking you got them second hand? What were they on? Love to see that ride :) 18x13 front wheels are some massive front wheels, dont know that Ive seen that large of a wheel on a production car, but I want to. JR

They are 29 x 18 x18 for the 6685, the 6686 is 31 x 18 x 18
