      whats the difference?

I am attempting to assemble an order list for the front brake lines on my 73 camaro. It has stock disk front and wilwood master with hydroboost. I need the flexline assembly from the wheels to the frame and mounting brackets.

While looking for my parts I am seeing alot of 72 camaro kits but not 73. What is the difference between 72 stock discs and 73? And where (if there is a place) to buy all I need to run from my wilwood proportioning valve to my front wheels. Wilwood's tech line was rude and sarchastic...they told me to take it to a professional brake shop among other things. I would rather push through this myself, tho.

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Agreed on Wilwood's tech support being garbage.

If you live in Southern California I would suggest Orme Brother's Inc. in the Northridge/Reseda area. They specialize in all types of hydraulic plumbing for performance and industry.

For the OEM stuff 1971-74 are all fairly similar, and are interchangeable. I know the last set of lines I ordered was for 71-74 from NPD. As far as the difference between the 72 and 73, the front mounting points are slightly different, and the hoses are slightly different, both are in length.

No problem Gene. Also, if you are looking for pre-bent hardlines for a good price check out Right Stuff Detailing HERE.

Ill second the nod to Orme Brother's. Wilwood is in my town and if they hire from the local pool of peeps then I could see the arrogant attitude, NOT COOL!!

Just a lil piece of possible help. I placed my proportioning valve on the single line going to the rear just behind and under my seat. The line is under the car and the knob for adjustments comes through the floor pan. So I can adjust the valve on the fly by dropping my left hand to the rear and grab the knob. And its covered by the seat so it wont get kicked for guys with rear seats (my seats are gone).

Just a thought. Makes for some easy adjustments. JR

Another trick location for the prop. valve is right under the master cylinder. Just bend up a hardline so that the prop valve screws into it under the master, with the adjustment knob facing forward. I'll try to get you a pic tonight or tomorrow.

And yeah JR the young guys at Wilwood are very cocky and terrible to deal with...some of the older veterans are a different story

Yeah, That is where I mounted it! I built a bracket out of 1/8" aluminum, gave it a brushed look and clear coated it. I absolutely love it (probably cuz I built it, LOL). I will try and post a pic of it on the car but I seriously suck at the posting pics man.
