Found used gear vendors unit for sale. Is it worth buying with no wiring?

I found a used gear venders unit for a TH400 but no wiring is included. Do you think its worth taking a chance on it for 800.00 plus shipping. I don't know what the controler/wiring stuff will cost. I called G.V. but got sent to a voicemail :(

I think it is just a switch. The control box is just used if you want it to automatically split gears so that it works in every gear making the tranny a 6 speed versus just as a single under or overdrive. Don'tknow what the failure rate is on a GV or the risk factor of buying a used one.

I'd go for it... Rick at GV told me that people get great deals on used units all the time, 'cause they're really hard to break and used units usually work as well as new ones!
