Question about coating used Headers

My question would it be smart to coat headers that are already used after being bead blasted or should i invest in new headers and get them coated? The headers or my car are very nice, but are old and look terrible

When used headers are coated they have to be blasted just before coating - otherwise it won't stick/last. If they're used and have been blasted they might be getting thin already. Header tubing slowly loses thickness with use, rapidly if they are wrapped!

"IF" (and that's a big if) Anti-seize really did cure and really did stop rust, that's all it would do. I guess if you're just looking to prevent rust, then maybe it would be kind of a cool idea.

If you're talking ceramic when you mention coating, then you're in a completely different ballgame. Ceramic coating does far more than simply protect from rust. It is a thermal barrier, and seriously reduces radiated exhaust gas temps within the engine compartment. Try using a heat gun to measure primary tube temps compared to EGT (Pyro) readings on an equipped vehicle. It's not cheap, but it's good stuff.

Yea I will use the jet hot ceramic coating, its for my brother's 1970 buick riveria, its pretty hard to find headers that fit that car, so we will just get the original exhaust manifold blasted and recoated
