72 Lemans removal of factory A/C

I have a factory A/C system in my 72 Lemans, and I don't want (need) A/C on my car. What are my best options, because I think that there were several different firewalls and sheet metal changes between cars. I don't know if it is as simple as removing the evap case and replacing it with a heater-only unit, or if there is more involved. Sorry if this is a common question.

I used one of these:

on my 69 GTO and it worked out well. It fit fine with a little bit of tweaking and it didn't look out of place at all.
