Im curious because I have a chance to pick up a set of 4 fronts in near mint condition. The wheels are 16x8, with what I've read is a 4.75 backspacing. ( I plan on measuring to make sure) I love that style wheel, and I think it would look good on my camaro. Plus, I can get them for a great deal with basically new Goodyear rubber on them. I want to stick with 16's, just for the ride quality aspect as the car will be seeing northern michigan roads, which can be pretty beat up, and I think a 16 is good comprimise between handling and comfort.
One of my concerns is the backspacing. I've read the ideal backspacing on an 8 inch wide rim would be 4.5, and was wondering if the 4.75 is going to be a problem for the front or rear.
Also, I've read that a special lug nut has to be used. Anyone know anything about that?
Oh, the tire size is 245-50-16. which I think should fit nice.
I will appreciate any input.
thanks,
