crossmember for 4L80e: what angle should I have

      Hello
I am preparing the 4L80e conversion.
      I now have a 200-4R transmission.
I plan to modify the crossmember from the 200-4R:

I want to cut the bracket and weld it on the other side of the tubing (to the rear).

Is there a specific angle to aim for the motor and transmission? I cannot go to low because the distributor would touch the firewall, and not to high either because of the size of the transmission.
Can I use any angle between these 2 positions or is it better to have it as low as possible or as high as possible? What could you advise me?

      Thanks
      Guillaume

You need a pinion angle gauge. Take a reading of your current pinion angle and shoot for the same numbers with your modified crossmember.

      Thanks for your answer.
In fact, there is really not so much room for the transmission as it is so big
. I only had the possibility to move the transmission 3-4cm vertically. that had a really minimal influence on the angle (~1°). And as it is big, I had to mount it a bit lower then the 200-4R the angle is 5° down. I think I will need to add shims on the differential to change the angle for the axle...it is now 3° up
