I'm just curious if theirs any Abody guys..perferably 68-72 that are lowerede and use 15s..

I'm just wondering if you could stuff a 15x10 with a 295-50 in the rear with 2in drop springs thinking 5-5/8 backspace and for rear 245-50 on 15x8 with 4.5 or 4.75

I'm sure I could get it to work with 1,in drop but not totaly sure about 2...stock spindles, dont plan to use drop spindles
tires are 26.62 and 26.58

id check out chevelles.com for those sizes. i have a set of bfg 295/50/15s that are now the rollers and there were no issues ever when i ran them. there was plenty of clearance on the inner, and i rolled the outer for a little insurance.

Hello,

A 24560R15 and 29550R15 are exactly the same overall diameter of 26.7"

not to be rude, but I already stated the diameters in the original post, and original question was if a 2 in drop would work with the wheel/tire combo
I'm thinking it should with the correct bs but who knows..

hey widowmaker, were youre 295s mounted on a 8in or 10in wide rim?

well looks like alot of people run 2in drop springs along with 2in drop spindles and still clear a 26in tire, and the gnxray regal ttype has a 27in tire with 2in drop springs...so I think I'm good

May go with opgi 3in drop springs front and rear

You'll be ok with the correct backspacing. I have 295/45/17 on 9.5 rim on my 69 Cutlass and it's lowered a good 2 inches in the rear. I had to roll my 1/4 panel lip because I was forced to use spacers to clear my brakes. Plenty of room on the inside. Without the spacer, they would be perfect.

mine were on an 8. that was way too narrow imho. i would go a 10. you will get a lot less movement with the tire and should be able to run tighter clearances.

yea, i'm thinking 295-50-15x10 w/ 5 5/8 bs rears
265-50-15x8 w/ 4.75bs fronts
1.5 drop all around
sound about correct?

I'm running a 275/60R15's on 15x8 with 4.75" backspacing wheels on a '68 GTO with hotchkis lowering springs and they fit just fine.

be careful comparing to a cutlass, the skylark "lip" on the inside quarter is about twice as wide as the 69 cutlass.

it should work fine with the right BS, i have 265s almost kissing the quarter in the rear now but theres lots oof space between the tire and frame on the inside.

Do you think you're 265-50s would work on youre front? I imagine youre running 15x8s?

some of the guys on v8 have run 275s all around. 15s and 17s just need the correct bs.
They are 15x8s and i dont know if the 265s would work, never tried.

you should try it for me lol see how close it is with 4.5 bs? though I'm sure it'd probably need something like s 4.75 to 5in bs for front.

No can do, car is in storage, and i dont feel like making the 1.5 hour drive.

Im sure somone has figured this out before. Search on V8, there was a yellow GSX that had 275s all around.

it's cool man, and yea 275-35 17 will fit with like 5.5 to 5.75 bs up front..but the sidewall is shorter and more flat then sidewalls of 15s..

Perhaps I'llsucker pepboys in trying some on for me haha

I hope you mean 275/40 or 45. 35's would be rubber bands. Heck youre gonna make me do the search arent ya? Ill look for the thread and send you a PM on V8.

yea, i ment 275-40-17s

315-35-17 is what some use for the rear

i'll be going 265-50s all around for a while with my current forged AL weldracing/cragar SS rims...15x8(4.5bs) and 15x7(4.5bs)
then when i'm ready i'll upgrade to custom buick 15x8s around with correct bs

then later down the line i may experiment with 295 50s on a 10 with 5 5/8 to 5 3/4 if i feel its still oversteering front swaybar may be all i need to correct that though
