Help me please

i have a 1968 camro and trying to put some 18x9.5 wheels on it. Will a 1 1/4 inch adaptor help clear the wheel from the control arms and fit inside the fender?

A 9.5 is too wide for the front of a stock subframed 68 Camaro.

In general, we run 8" wide wheels on the front of the stock subframed 1st gens. Depending on the wheels you are looking at, 8.5" wide front hoops may not be available. If you need help finding a wheel or have questions feel free to give me a call at the shop.

Measure your ride for optimum max fit and you may be glad you did. Lots of things to consider before giving up on 9.5" wheels. Diameter will be a key factor and sometimes certain wheels without a drop center will work differently. Send me your number thru a PM here and I will contact you and help you decide what can be done. True, is right. It has been done. Do you plan on running steering stops to prevent the wheels from rubbing up against the inner frame rail? If you just want to stuff the biggest tire in there without worrying about lock to lock clearance it can be done. Just because you can , doesn't mean you should. It all boils down to application. But hey, wtf do I know about building wheels. Lol!:cheers:

Ok my 69 has a stock frame and actually it off a 68 camaro but there the same anyway. Well I have 19x8 245 35 I have speedtech qa's and I believe they have stops built on. Anyway I have room to go a little bigger but would increase my already large turning radius so unless you have not so curvy roads I'd stick to 245 255 front

With the right backspacing it can happen. If you notch your frame you can avoid giving up a lot of turning radius.

With that said, I do agree with Justin. It does all come down to the application. You have to weigh the costs and benefits. How much are you willing to put up with?

Did we not all learn three point turns? and dont forget the rear can help in a turn with a blip of the gas. :)
