I'm considering a Shrifter for a 4L60E I have in a '67 GTO. We're swapping an LS3 into it.
I understand to have true engine braking, modifications need to made to the trans. Does anybody have info, or could provide a link to info about this?
Thanks,
CF

x2 on Twist machine and Bowler I went with a setup of Twist Machine paddle shifters and Bowler transmission for engine braking.

Yeah, I already have a trans. I understand there's a kit of some sort to make the changes I need to mine .

I'd talk to Steve Chryssos at Twist Machine, my understanding its some internal mods to the 4L60E as well as a special torque convertor, least for the advanced engine braking. He also goes by streetfytr68 on pro-touring or check out his website: http://www.twistmachine.com/ He is a great to deal with I'm sure he will give you all sorts of info.
