Which tires?

I need some help deciding on which size tires to go with. I have 18x8 rear, an 18x7 front. Sizes are either (255/40-18 rear and 225/40-18 front) or (255/45-18 rear and 225/45-18 front) for a 1968 firebird. I dropped the rear 4 inches and the front 3 inches. I want the rear tire to fill the wheel well which a 255/45-18 would do but for the front a 225/45-18 might be to tall. Does anyone have these combinations. Please help me decide. I will be purchasing tires soon. Thanks. Btw my rear backspacing is 5.75 and front is 4.75

I understand most on this forum run 275/40-18 and 245/40-18, therfore its hard to get advise on the smaller tires. Thats ok. Has anyone tryed to fit a 275 on an 8 inch rim?

I have 17" rims but I used 235-45-17 on a 7" wide front rim and 255-45 on a 8" rim on the back.

Thanks. Those are and inch shorter. might make a big difference
