I've been doing some research and it seems that everyone runs either 3/8" or 1/2" line. What I can't seem to track down is the reason for running one or the other. Obviously the 1/2 runs more fuel, but what are the limitations of 3/8?

If I run 1/2 and it is "overkill" will will it have a negative effect?

Thanks

No problems with overkill. The only thing 1/2" costs you is that it's a little more difficult to route hard lines in some places because of the extra OD, in stainless particularly it's tougher to bend, and it's a little more expensive. I honestly don't know the limitations of 3/8 myself, but was cautioned to run 1/2" in my build.

Sounds like I'll be running 3/8. Thanks for the info.

3/8" is basically what the factory runs with LSx engines. I've built a few 500+ hp LSx engines and have no fuel supply issues using stock fuel lines and just an upgraded pump. Bill is correct though about the differences between them.

Flow is dependent on area and pressure.

Double 1/2" lines will still fit, just takes some time mocking up and thinking about it. Even 5/8" will fit least will before the axle:

Stainless is harder to bend, but just requires a good bender (Rigid).

Yes 5/8" will still fit because I am running dual 5/8" lines on my 67 camaro blow-thru application.I would recommend on going with 1/2" and the reason I say this is for future need. If you ever need to go up with fuel volume then you will have the correct line size without changing. That is just my opinion.
