I have a '77 Pontiac LeMans in build with a #3026 Hydratech system, Wilwood Tandem aluminum master cyclinder and the Kore3 C6 brake conversion. In working with a vendor to source a type 2 pump with remote reservoir and a replacement steering box, they need to know the line pressure that the Hydratech unit produces. I seem to recall that it is around 1500 psi? Does anyone know?
The car came with the standard 700 Saginaw box which I think is a 13/16-64 spline. The 600 series boxes uses a smaller ¾-30 spline. Has anyone converted a '77 GM product to the 600 series and if so is there a conversion kit for the rag joint and fittings that will make the conversion go easy. Other than the weight savings of a 600 series box, will it be better for a dual purpose car that hits the road course or the occasional open road race from a steering feel and performance standpoint?
