      15in wheels back space question

Guy's wanting to build some custom rally wheels for my 69 camaro for drag use. It's a 69 camaro 9in ford (54in from axle flange to axle flange or total length)DSE tubbs and G-linked,I've tried some 15x10's with 5.5 back space with some 325/50/15 BFg drag radials and there just a little close to the fender lip(which has been rolled btw)what i'm wanting is to run the same tire with a 15x12 wheel.I know this has been touched on a thousand times and I'm thinking a backspacing of 6.5 will be fine but thought I would ask the experts first before I ordered anything.THANKS!

A 6.5 in backspace on a 15X12 will put the tire in the same place as a 15X10 with 5.5 backspace. If you want to tuck it in a bit, you need to run 7" backspace on that 15X12 rim.
