Hello

How is the quality of coys wheels?
Any recommendations yes/no?
I'm not what wheels to buy. And how much I want to spend.

not bad for the money. I had some 20/18s on my 69 camaro for couple of years. They are just about as widespread as boss 338s but i like the coys better. just my 2 cents.

I'd be more content with them if it weren't for the stupid valve stem placement. Doesn't play well with big brakes...FYI

X2 on the valve stem arrangement with big brakes and they leak like crazy.

Can you elaborate? I was just contemplating placing an order for the C-55's - 17X8, 4.5"bs @ $125 each - Can't beat that price!

They place the valve stem on the inside of the wheel usually hidden behind a spoke. They also use the flush mount valve stem. I've had mine C-55's for about a yr. now with no leaks. I don't have big brakes so I can't elaborate on that. Very good for the money though.

The quality of the aluminum on the C5s is junk. They don't polish up worth sh*t!

The flush mount valve stem is placed inline with the rotor and requires a special inflation tool, if you use 18" or smaller wheels and 13" or larger brakes it is very tricky to put air the tire which you will have to do regularly because the valve stems leak. I have 5 different cars with coys wheels and every one of them has at least one valve stem that leaks. There are different length inflation tools, so get the shortest one they make or you'll be taking the wheel off to put air in the tire with big brakes.

Talked with Coy's and they have relocated the valve stem location. I went ahead and ordered a set of C-55's, 17X8, 4.75" bs. They showed up this week, I checked them, test fit them and got my race rubbers installed.

I love my C5's but also have the same problem with airing my fronts. They are 18's with large drum brakes.

Received my new Coy's C-55's - 17" X 8", 4.75" backspacing. Notice the new position of the valve stem.

They did not move them on the C5 wheel and have no plans to do so.
