New to posting here but here it goes ,building a 69 camaro minitubbed ,talking to frank at prodigy and thinking of going forgeline sp3p 18" in the front and 19"x11.5 inthe rear with a 325/30/19 I like that the tire is a little taller to fill the wheel well but the fatlip rear rim looks so big or do I go with a ds3 stepped lip 19" or the old stand by 18" 335/30/18 if anyone has any pics with a 19" stepped lip on a 69 would be great and I know those 19" tires arent cheap

Sorry, no pictures, but I think a 19" step lip wheels would kick total ass. I agree with you on the awkwardly large visual impact that 19" smooth lip wheels often have, simply because the spokes end up being so big. With a step lip though, the spokes wouldn't end up being so large. When I was in the shop last week, over at Best of Show, we compared Steve's stepped lip wheels for Bad Penny to my smooth lip wheels (all were 18") and his looked much smaller.

Right now, I think there are also more tire choices for a 19x11-12" wheel than an 18x12.

I've got a set of 18x8 and 19x12 stepped lip DS3s on the way, so if you can wait a week or two, I'll send you pics of mine.

Since I have a 67, I went with the 19's to get a taller rear tire to fill the opening. I think I'm going with a 345/30/19r...I installed full frame rails, so I've plenty of room.

And I agree with you on the stepped lips...I prefer their traditional look over the smooth.

I love the idea. I doubt anyone's faulting you for thinking outside the box (pun intended) we're just having fun. Anymore no low-buck mockup ideas, post up!
