I know almost nothing about transmissions but I found a stupid deal on a ls2 and 4l70 from an awd tbss. Can I use it and what do I need to do to it? I need to know weather to leave it or jump cause it will prolly get sold tonight.
thanks guys

If you can get a good deal on it, I would buy it and turn around and resale. Those cores demand a better premium.

thanks Ben and Travis
So the trans won't work. It would need a bunch of work to make it work or I could sell it and buy what I need. Bummer.

You can use the 4L70E transmission, you would have to tear the transmission down and install a 2wd output shaft and tail housing. After that you would just need a controller to operate the transmission. I have had several guys run across deals like this and make the conversion to 2wd, to do the conversion you are normally looking at around $275.00 which includes, output shaft, speed sensor, tail housing, filter, necessary seals and gaskets, keep in mind this would not be rebuilding or upgrading the transmission but only to convert to a 2wd unit. I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Mark

And 4L70 has higher torque input rating over the 4L60/4L65,,,, the last 2 numbers are torque capabilities
