New wheels for the Chevelle

Lately I have been thinking about a new set og wheels for the car.
Not that I don't like the Borbet's anymore but they been on it about a decade now an probably there's time for a change.

Seems that I cant deside and therefore Icall out to you good people for Ideas.

Thought about going away from the Euro-Style wheels and probably a more motorsport inspired wheel yet classic inspired. but I really dont know.

The Borbets are 18x8 1/2 up front and 10 rear but dont know if I should change that to bigger. Probably could have a benefit of bigger up front with a slighly different offset.

19 front and 20 rear? ....I dont know

that thing would look killer with a fresh set of rushforths!!!! i dont know what your budget is but they are well worth the money. where is that pic taken? looks like good cruising country!

Funny you should mention the seats! When i bought them I wantet the black leather ones but at that time there was this Cow-disease going arount here i Europe so prizes on leather was sky high and so the seats.
So I went for the cheaper ones.

Had Coys on my mind a couple of years ago actually

Thanks for the Rushforth votes, Guys! That's a killer car and we would love to put a new set on there! I can totally see a set of 18 and 19" Rushforth Rated-Xes on that car! Killer ride!

You asked for opinions, and you've said that you're changing wheels....
That being the case, I must say that I think you could fit just about ANY other wheel to your car and it would be a huge improvement. The shape of the Borbet are just all wrong for the shape of the car. I love the shaved look of your car with the deep front spoiler, and I can't wait to see what a difference a nice set of wheels will make.

Your car is a perfect example of a discussion on another thread about justifying the purchase of high-end wheels. In your case, I really think that the desirability and value of your car will increase so much more than the cost of the replacement wheels/tires.

Don't leave it another decade - DO IT NOW!! :)

Looking at it, I agree those wheels are totally holding your car back. No offense of course, but a set of new wheels will totally take your car to the next level. Those wheels are really holding your car back.

Hehe are you guys not satisfied with the Borbet's?
Bought them ages ago so time for something new.
As I see it the car ideally should have 19" up front because of the clerance to the upper A-arm. Could choose another offset.
Im the back I feel that bigger wheels could fill the wheel well's better.
So my choise actually is 19" front and 20" back.
More looks than function since it dosent see any track time

Colour is a Peugeot 306 one. Curvie Goa. can check paint code if you like.

I ultimately plan on running Rushforths on mine and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone in our corner of the hobby. A couple other wheels I think would look great are the ProTouring series from Billet Specialties and some of the Vintage Wheel Works wheels. There are others but those are my favorites right now for the 65 Chevelle. I think a brushed finish is the best look while giving the car a more modern feel. With your paint I think you could pull off anything from a brushed finish to a satin black and still look great. It's just that the current wheels would be better suited on an older Mercedes or 3 series BMW. The command their own attention and don't do the awesome lines of the 64/64 Chevelle justice. Hope to see those new wheels on soon!

It contains the engine oil cooler and another purpose was to fill up , in my oppinion the to large space between the bumper and the ground.

Bit different engine choise. Northstar with twin Scwitzer turbos.

I hope you don't mind me being honest with you but it looks pretty clunky there and like it's waiting for just the right thing to rip it off. As far as the engine cooler, I've seen more stealth approaches to mounting them. Again, I'm in no way trying to offend your choices but I think this could be a clean looking car with a few changes.
