Looking for Wheels with a Satin Brushed Hoop

Keep in mind if you want to be cheap, you can achieve that brushed look yourself with any polished wheel, a 3M scotchbrite pad, and some clearcoat.

Yup, we've taken a few Vintage Wheel Works wheels and brushed the lips for customers.

We have this set of brushed 17" Super Spokes on the shelf and ready to go. They're 8s with 4.875" backspace and 10s with 5.625" backspace with GM bolt pattern.

They can be in the back of a UPS truck on their way to you Monday morning!

That's a good idea.. but the whole wheel is polished.. I think brushed hoops and a polished center would look weird.

I'm not sure what to do... I'm done with the polished look though. I'm open to ideas on finishes/wheel colors?

Consider the paint that Lexus uses in their f-sport package.
Spray the centers, and then leave the hoops polished, or brush/clear- coat the hoops. No more polishing ever again....

Or black out the coves in the middle and the lugs... (?) or a combination...
Lexus also has (i believe they are different) another color that looks like a smoked titanium, extemely tasty looking color, it looks even better in person. I think it would be flattering on the compound curves.

Some good ideas there Dave. I like the graphite look against a maroon color... Maybe do a brushed hoop, keep the centers as-is and paint the insides graphite like you did there. I wonder if I can clear coat over this type of polished wheel, or if I would need to paint it?

You can clear-coat if if you brush it, giving it something the paint will stick to.
Check for non-yellowing clear-coat, not all stay 'clear'.
If you leave an area polished, you can use Zoop sealer, it stays looking freshly polished up to 2 yrs.

I need to just sell these wheels and buy some new ones. I don't really like the stepped lip anymore.

Funny you mention the stepped lip, because those are actually coming back into style again.

Yes, you can brush that entire wheel. Just do the centers first, brushing in a circular direction to match the round centers. Then mask off the center and brush the hoops next. Clear the entire wheel to seal it. They would look very modern with the brushed finish.

Tony would you use 00 steel wool or ? Or exactly what kind of scotchbrite pad?

I guess I could brush the whole wheel, paint the centers a graphite, then clear the hoops or the whole wheel.
