seat studs?

i seem to remove my front seats quite a bit to fiddle with stuff under my dash. would it be a no no to use studs to mount the seats in my 69 camaro? its such a pain in the butt to line the bolt holes up and install the bolts. i think it would be much easier to drop the seats in over the studs and be done with it.

yep! I use studs. Just put loctite on the threads otherwise it just spins when you try to thread down the nut.

The better way to do it is to put bolts from underneath the seat frame...but that's more involved.

Quick release steering wheel is also mighty handy for easier work underneath the dash.

I thought the same thing I used studs, but when I took the seats out to get under the dash the suckers poked me in the back. I went back to nuts and plates welded to the underside of the floor and then when I put he seats back in I just run a longer bolt through the nut and then put a nut on top after the seat was in. I have removable studs so to speak.

Studs are usually grade 5 or better so they will definately strong enough.

my truck has studs oem so i dont see the problem
