      cost to enlarge aluminum wheels?

I live in san diego, and am thinking about getting some GTA rims and enlarging them to 17''s, how much would it cost?

Do you mean enlarge the diameter of the wheel?

I have never heard of that and dont know how that could be done.

If you mean widen the wheel then thats about 200-300 dollars.

I'm guessing the cost would exceed the price of a new set of 17" wheels with styling similar to the GTA wheels.

It isn't possible. There is a thread on TGO where they machined out the inner part, and the biggest hoop you can fit is 16" because the spoke area isn't large enough to fill a 17" hoop. You can however enlarge 91-92 Z28 wheels to 17"... There are some people in Socal doing it for their thirdgens.

There is really not a safe or logical way to do this. Not to mention it would never look correct as the proportions need to be adjusted with the larger diameter. Best bet is to have someone make a set that looks like them in the sizes you want or find another aftermarket wheel.

Check out this thread. This guy had a set of GN wheels made in 18's.

I was quoted about 525.00 per wheel, the company sent me a pic of one they did and it looks great, but why do it when a Boze wheel that will clear any brake system can be had for about the same price?

There are a couple companies that make 17" mesh wheels. SSR is one of them.
