I have been a member here for quite some time now... but have never really thought about posting too much here, because the only vehicle I have has never been worthy of this site...
I own a 2006 Ford Ranger STX 2wd, 3.0L, 5-speed that is my daily driver, I am trying to get some ideas on how to make it more exciting to drive around the corners and in a straight line...
the truck is fully stock as of now except for the cosmetic mod that I have done, and I run a 255/60/15 tire on the stock 15"x7" rims that makes a huge difference in how the truck drives...
I am thinking about a 2" front drop and a 4" rear drop, I am currently trying to find coil springs that have higher spring rates than compared to what is available aftermarket wise... I have been looking at hypercoil springs, but have only been able to find circle track springs; never really been sure if the spring would work on the truck...
For the rear of the truck I am planning on a flip kit to position the axle on top of the leaf springs instead of the current axle under leaf spring setup, Now I did wonder on how hard it would be to convert to an old late 60's early 70's Mustang rear shock setup??? I did find QA1s for a Ford Lightning that I think could possibly work with the truck, How hard would it be to setup a Watts link for the rear of the truck retaining the leafsprings?
I am also planning on running a full Energy suspension kit for the truck, I want to run a Belltech 1 1/4" front swaybar and a Bronco II 1" rear sway bar...
Sorry for the long post, I am just trying to get an idea on how to set up the truck...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
