      Dyeing Leather Seats???

If anyone has feedback, recommendations, or horror stories about dyeing their leather seats, I would greatly appreciate it. Right now, I am searching for a set of M3 seats for my car, and have come across a great deal, but they are grey (I'm looking for black).

I've never tried dyeing seats before, and am looking for feedback on experiences, as well as durability of the dye. At the same time, is there any recommendations for products?

      Thanks,

      ~ Jason

You'd be surprised, it's actually more of a paint than a dye. Our interior guy does it all the time and they come out killer. Don't know the products he uses, though.

Getting it clean is a big part of it, Dupont makes some dyes that seam to work. Check with your local suppliers.

I did mine on a budget. My original vinyl seats were white or creame and I painted them with SEM blk vinyle dye. It took a long time for it to dry but they came out good I wouldn't say super but cost about 100.00 and hrs of cleaning for everything. most can't tell I painted them. but this is a budget car seats will come later.
If I had M3 seats I would dye them esp newer ones without a bunch of dirt. mine were from 69.
trying to keep my ars in the seat on the dragon during RTTH last yr was very difficult.
