      275-50-15 fronts?

      I have a 72 buick skylark(a-body)

      As for my question..

      Will a 275-50-15 on a 15x8 (5in bs) and no sway bar handle better or worse then a 235-60-15 on a 15x7 with a 1 3/8 front sway bar?

      rear tire/rim will be 325-50-15 on 15x10 6in bs
rear sway bar is 1 1/4

I'd put my money on the sway bar.

Maybe you can run a small spacer or put up with reduced turning radius and keep the bar?

That's a tough one. You have a huge rear tire for the 235 front tires, so you'll get a ton of understeer there.

With the 275, your sizes are better matched, but your front roll stiffness will be less than your rear, causing big issues there too.

I don't think either option will handle particularly well. But, the 235 w/ sway bar will feel better for most driving situations.

not to bash the OP but this is a case of looking through catalogs and just picking the biggest parts (look at the sway bars) the tires listed are all drag radials, IMHO it would be unfair to anyone to not point this out because answering the question as it is asked will mislead the person asking it.
It's not tough to answer, the answer is, you can't use that combination of parts, seek profesional help in choosing the correct combination of parts.
What is your goal with the car?, what is your budget? (be realistic)

bf g-force 2 drag radials have 325-50 aand 275-50 and so does nitto

The reason for the big meats in the back are due to twin turbos
i have every part needed, either installed already or piles are parts/boxes sitting in my garage..

I just havent bought any front suspension parts as of yet nor new tire/rim combo
so i'll be geetting a 670 i think it is lee box along with 1in drop springs and tubular control arms..

This is just going to be a nice street car ...that will be going to the track , but i want to have it handle better then if i just replaced everything with stock components

rear consists of hr parts in stuff 1.25 anti-roll bar obviously to help with hadeling but mainly for making the car launch level
TA performance no hop bars this gove me better instant center
built 8.6 30 spline moser axles with 3.08 tru-trac and right stuff detailing rear discs

edelbrock/currie al trailing arm combo did this combo due to both upper/lower having sperical ends!
moog rear springs with edelbrock ias shocks

Neither are going to handle very well. The sidewall flex on those 275 &325 drag radials is HUGE. 6 1/2 inches.

Call SC&C and get the stage 2 package on the front. Upgrade to 17" wheels and you can still run drag radials (like Nitto NT05R's) but you can have much less sidewall flex and still put the power to the ground (guys running 8's on 17's). Still a little compromise due to the drag radials but much better.

ah, didnt know they had a package, i've been eyeying up the prolite arms

the Street-Comp Stage 2 PLUS Package looks real nice
I know 17s/18d handle well but not sure if i'd like how they look on a buick..but if i do upgrade i'll most likely have 18s for the rears and 17s up front so i can atleast stagger the tire sizes by an inch or so
and i know about scandc , hes a good guy, I bought my billet al lower curretec trailing arms off him

ok, I Think I may have given in on the big rims/tires

how would this work for a 72 skylark

      17x9 or 17x9.5 with 5.5bs? w/ 275-40-17
      17x11 with 6.25 bs? w/ 335-35-17

17x9 and 17x11 should fit with the right backspacing and measuring. The tires I think are a bit large in the rear. Measure your wheel opening but I think that in a stock opening without some cutting the largest you are going to fit is a 315/35R17. 335 is getting into the area where a frame notch or fender bulge is required.

      I have 18x9 and 18x11 on my 68GTO with 255/35R18 fronts and 305/35R18 rears.

Honestly Schwartz Performance ran the 315 35 17 on their 2002 Cadillac http://www.schwartzperformance.com/p...x?projectid=22
Basically these are Corvette tires and I agree to run the 335 might take some cutting.
Now as a chassis tuner I can say it amazes me that most people forget that traction or lack thereof can be had by chassis tuning.
Dont believe me look at super stockers(at least I think thats the class) running 9 in wide slicks and hooking up 600+ hp.
My buddy picked up 73 Camaro a ways back and we swapped in his 4.56 rear end and springs from his 73 Nova and we redid the mounting pads so we could dial in the pinion angle for traction ,then cut down and modified an old set of S10 traction bars to make a set of slapper bars for it.
Now a car on street tires, weak 283 and no stock tranny/cheap converter combo, would go out and make consistent 2.055 60 fts, every time. And this was on old worn out radial street tires.
He would heat them up, and every pass would be within a few thousandths. We stepped up to different engines, not knowing the trans/converter was going away. to slicks, and car ran consistent.
Pick up a book by Fred Puhn called How to Make your Car Handle. Best chassis learning book I have ever read.
Also learning how to apply big power to the suspension is the art you will need to learn.
Now as for wheels on the lesser side of cost look at Cragar Soft 8.

the 335s should fit...15xc10 with 325 50 15s fit, and is practicly the same wdith....325 50s just needed lip cut to where the chrome wheel well strip due to height..

      we'll see I guess

I'l;l check out that book you mentioned also

      so sounds very do able

15x 10/325-50 needed 5 5/8 bs so if i go something like 6in or 6.25 bs the 335 should fit like a glove

      325-50 on 15x 10 section width is 13.0
      335-35 on 17x11 section width is 13.1
obvously treadwidth is a bigger difference between the two

ps 70-72 buicks tend to fit wider tires easier compared to other A-bodies..dont know why but they do :-D
      72 buick skylark
twin-turbo fuel injected buick 350..perhaps stroked to 370 in the works!
