I really like the look, function, and value of these gauges:

They also have some really nice newer models in the works in this thread:

Prices seem very good, and they do lots of custom work if needed.
I'll likely be buying guages from them if I don't go the full digital virtual gauges route.

You can put the red bulb caps on autometer gauges. They're included. However, I'll also say that while it definitely makes them light up red, it also makes the gauges dim and hard to read at night.

Red does serve a purpose at night. Red light impacts night vision less than other colors of light, hence this is why pilots are taught to use a red flashlight in the cabin while flying at night.
I've seen red gauges in an Audi that looked great at night. So much so, that I'll be specifically looking for gauges that are red at night (that don't suck obviously).

Autometer ES Gauges are Red at night, white letters on black during the day. Much easier to read than the factory gauges.

Hey Roadbuster...can i see of pic of your dash during daylight? I have a 69 GTO that i am looking for gauges...i have cut out an old rotted dash and loosely fitted some Orange 2006 GTO gauge cluster in. Looks good. Not sure if I should send the good dash off to "just dashes" and get them to retro fit that cluster....or simply use original gauges...or replace orginal gauges with something like you have in the same gauge holes....
Thoughts anyone??
thanks

Looks much better at night!
My car is getting changed to a black interior with a custom dash insert. I am waiting on the A/C controls and then I can cut metal to make my insert. The green dash will get painted a satin black. It will look much better with my orange exterior.
The medium size Autometer gauges fit in the '68 pockets with no cutting.

The other thing to think about with New Vintage is they can build you a custom dial. So you know you'll get exactly what you want. I was originally thinking Dakota Digital but am now likely going to do New Vintage, get the colors I want with a dial to match my ride.
