I know you hear this all the time..

Will this rim fit on my 68 mustang coupe? This is for front and rear.

17"X 9" MUSTANG/FORD
93 AND UP MUSTANG-- 5 ON 4.5" BOLT PATTERN 6" BackSpacing?

What would be a good tire to run with these if they do fit? Im looking for the raked look larger in the rear.

I have this posted on a few boards dedicated to classics.. so when I find out, I'll let you know. Im new here, but your name seems to scream Chevy! Great cars by the way. :) No hatin' here. I checked out your site, VERY NICE.... Back to the point. Are you getting ready to do a Stang? I bet it will look awesome..

Im interested in the 16's cause I think they will still look very sharp without the huge expensive tires... I did some research - It is extremley cheaper for the 16 tires...

A 17x9 will only fit the rear of a 68 mustang...but with the 6" backspacing you will need at least a 1/2" spacer.

My 68 coupe (check it out in vBGarage) has 17x9's on the back with 5.79" backspacing (20mm pos offset). Without any spacer there is no interference with the leaf spring, but I run a 1/2" spacer to put the wheel where it looks good relative to the fender lip. The tires are 275/40's.

For the front you will need either a 17x7 or 17x8. I had the 17x9's narrowed to 17x8 so they now have 4.79" backspacing. This fits fine with no spacer. The tires are 245/45's.

This car has GW rear leafs that were further dearched 2". On the front a GW coils that had one full coil removed. Also, the return flanges on the fender lips have been rolled.

I have 17x9.5 with 5.75" bs on my 67 with no rubbing issues at all. The tire is a 275. I did roll the rear fenders. Based on what I'm running, I would say that it would work with no problem for the rear. I don't think you can get anything bigger than an 8" rim and a 245 maybe 255 tire on the front.
