I know this question has been posted before, but most of the comments seemed to focus more on installation as opposed to actaul performance. I have a 68 firebird in mid build and I need to decide on an a/c unit asap. In your collective opinions, which system works better (blows harder, colder)??? I live in Fla. so this decision is as important as engine to me. I plan on having it professionally installed and price is not the most important factor. Any input, experiences, suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Contact Frank at Prodigy Customs, a sponsor on here. He's in Florida too and sells both of these units. I bought a Vintage Air from him, based on his recommendation and also because their unit is electric servo controlled. Haven't actually turned it on and tested it though, I'm a ways away from that.

I have a VA Gen 4 system that I got from Frank. It works well in the 100 degree Texas heat. So well in fact that my wife complains it is too cold. The electronic controls are nice, no cables or vacuum lines to mess with.

Thanks Don. That's what I needed to hear. I'm leaning towards the VA Gen IV system, I just want to make sure its gonna cool me down in the hot Florida summers. I love your 69 by the way.
