What the title says.
I think World Products makes an aluminum SBC block, maybe there are others.
If you want a simple, carb'd, big-inch smallblock . . . which is lighter? Is there a big difference? Other issues?
How do the lightest-weight Ford V8s stack up to these?

Here's an ongoing discussion of SBC weight vs LS weight:

Based on the info above, I would venture to guess that an all aluminum SBC would wind up a bit lighter than an LS, say 40-70lbs. But the LS is packaged a bit more compact, so you can probably set it in the chassis lower and get a lower CG.
From a weight savings standpoint, I think a Tremec TKO is lighter than a T56 by 30lbs or so....that helps, but you have 1 less gear to row.

I can easily see an all aluminum SBF (289 family) being lighter than an LSx, but not an all aluminum SBC. My guess is that they'd be pretty close.
