broken heli-coil help

so i was putting in a new starter in my camaro (355) and as i was tightening the outer bolt i noticed it was sure turning alot so i pulled the starter back out and out falls a broken heli-coil right on my forehead, now i've never used heli coils before so i dont know what my next step should be any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I use the ones Erik listed from alcoa at work all the time and am very happy with them. I never use helicoils. but the threaded inserts are alot nicer.

The Tme Serts are probably the best fix for your problem, here are some part #s to look at. Install the longest insert that will fit your application minus 1/8 to 3/16 inch for max thread engagement.

k thanks for the info im gonna try to find those inserts locally(vancouver) and if not i'll order them off that site

You can also get a product from Time Sert that will repair a thread that can't be fixed with a normal insert, it's called Big Sert, same principle just a larger outside outside thread.
