What would cause the engine to die when braking hard in the corners on an auto cross. Every time I come into a turn hard and slam on the brake pedal the engine dies. Roots blower, manual brakes, and carbed.

I'm not sure if you're using vacuum advance, but I noticed this exact same problem when I had my distributor vacuum advance hooked up to the carb vacuum port. I then changed it to run off the intake manifold port and the problem went away completely.

Fuel slosh from the vent tubes on the carb IMO. Holley makes vent extenders that go inside the bowl area to keep that from happening. Not sure what they are called tho. I'll try to find them.
Edit:
found them. Vent whistles

And some tech for that problem:

what do you have your idle set at? for competition you will need to run it at 1000 - 1200 600-800 is too low and will let it die
