Mark Stielow put a set on the Red Witch a few years ago (Charlie Lillard owns the car now.) I'm not sure about the details of how he did it. I'm actually putting a set of 17" Z06 wheels on a 65 Nova but I'm using all custom suspension so I'm kind of cheating.
I keep telling myself I need to start a thread for this car but I use Photobucket and it's so labor intensive I haven't taken the time to upload more than a few pics to it. I'd rather be working on the car!

i just bought a set of c6 wheels with the 18x8.5 19x.10 that im gonna try and fit on my 80 caprice classic to have a very one of a kind look which when all said and done should meet up to par but for 400 bucks for non replica wheels i couldnt say no. i just plan on buying a disc brAke set to match the lug pattern then ill get spacer to match up the crazy corvette offset now thats if everything goes according because ive herd it cant be done but hey if it wont work ill make a extra 100 off them at the turkey run coming up and sell them for 5 and call it a day
I have been running spacers for 2 years from a shop in socal called EZaccessory (http://www.ezaccessory.com/), I run the car at many autocross events and have not had a problem, 2 inch spacer front and rear

I run C6 ZO6 wheels on my car. I have modified suspension as well so do not need the spacers. I like them because you can get them fairly cheep and the rims will stand up to track use.
I would rather run a smaller rim for looks but their is not a lot of wide tires on the market. They force you to go to the bigger diameter rims if you want a certain size tire.
I will try to post some pictures when I get home.
