Trunk weatherstrip channel replacement??

I'm getting ready to use the three piece trunk gutter/weatherstrip channel kit to fix my trunk in my 67 'Bird vert. Has anyone ever used this? What tips can you give me before I attempt this repair???

Make blocks for spacing and then use lots of clamps before you weld them. Drill holes and plug weld them to make it easier.
