      Forgeline SO3P Alternative?

I was wondering if anyone knows of an alternative to the Forgeline SO3P wheel (pic: http://www.forgeline.com/wheels/so3p.html). I really like this wheel, especially with the black-painted center, but I don't really want a 19" wheel, and I also can't afford to spend $4000 on a set of wheels. Does anyone know of a wheel that looks similar (I don't care if it comes painted black or not, I can do that myself), but is available in smaller sizes and is cheaper?

I know what you mean, I am kinda hung up on this one
      http://www.forgeline.com/wheels/vr3p.jpg
however, I need 18's for the front. Here are a couple other manufacturers that may have something you can live with. Both have similar wheels to the one I like.

Those are still just as expensive or even more...any other alternatives? Can't justify spending more than $500 max per wheel for a type 540R with black centers.

Stay tuned. I talked with forgeline the other day and they said a 18" will come in about 6-9 months.

That would be awesome, but I imagine they're still gonna be at least $800/wheel.

Bill, I checked out those links you posted. HRE's 545 and CCW's SP500 are both awesome, but the HREs are about the same price as Forgeline, and the CCWs are at least $2500 a set. I was hoping for something in the $250 - $300 a wheel range. Or have I lost touch with reality trying to find a wheel like that at that price?

sadly, yeah... i did an exaustive search last nite, kinesis wheels, racing hart, even BC forged wheels cost well over 500 a piece for 18s. Im still looking though.

      roh wheels are decently priced.
      and

      these
are Breyton Imagines. available at tire rack. prices start at 419 a wheel.
      call em up.

LOL, Four years ago, I thought the only wheel out there was 8" chevy rallys with small center caps. I really went outside the box for me and bought a set of 17x8 tt11's. Now that wheel is so common that I want to step up on the new project. I, like you can not believe the cost of wheels, but like everything else, I guess they go up in cost too. My original budget for wheels was $2500 to $3000 and I told Kris who is doing a rendering for me to use wheels in that price range.HA, he probably thought I was an idiot. I think presentation is the most important aspect to my new project and with that said, if looks like I will have to work some overtime to get what I want. The forgelines are still my favorite and if they do make 18" sizes shortly, I will have those on the Lemans. I guess I will be sleeping with the wheels since they will cost a whole lot more than my bedroom furniture- . I have got to find a way to break this to Melinda gently........

NOTE TO KRIS: Why don't you just put a milk crate in the floor for a seat in the rendering, it looks like the interior budget will be spent on wheels...
NOTE TO ALLEN: Thanks alot for showing me the forgelines
NOTE TO FORGELINE: Don't ya'll need a nice 65 Lemans convertible to display the VR3P's at SEMA

      Cost is killing us all!

      I hear you Bill,
First about explaining to the wife that my wheels and tires, which would have cost over 6k if I went with HRE/Kinesis and the like, still cost about 3k (CCW 19x13's with 345/30/19's & 19x10's with 275/30/19's). She thought the car looked fine with what was on there...

And as for Allen, he can get you in trouble. I have been lucky so far, but I have a feeling once both of our Camaros are on the road we will hook up at autocross events in the SF Bay Area and I too will be explaining Allen to my wife (j/k Allen).

If I had passed on the pin-drive knockoff option,my 17x9 & 17x13 PSE Kidney Beans would have cost around $1700 for the set. Adding the knockoffs bumped the price another $1000.
PS Engineering makes a few cool wheels that won't break the budget.

TonyL - hey thanks for posting those Breyton wheels. I looked through all the wheels on TireRack.com the other day, but for some reason I must've look over those; I really like them. I might be able to swing $425 or so a wheel, so I'll have to look into those. Maybe I'm just missing something, but once you get to the page about a specific wheel at TireRack.com, is there any way you can see what sizes, widths, backspaces, bolt patterns, prices, etc. the wheel is available in?? On the wheel's page, it lists what diameters are available, but thats it. Am I missing something obvious?

no. they want you to call them. I found that odd too. however, package pricing is in every motor trend and car and driver magazine. Thats how i found out about that paticular wheel. there are more out there, Im just drawing a blank right now. It'll come to me.

I did not spend too long looking at the entire site so maybe I missed something.

Just as a side note/rant: has anyone noticed that in this month's PHR (June), 2 of the 3 feature cars have Torq Thrust II's? I mean, I went to the Hot Rod Power Tour stop in Fort Worth last year, and from the ~120 pictures I took, I counted 23 cars with them. I really like this wheel, but it has to be one of the most over-used wheels on muscle-era cars today. Sorry, couldn't help throwing that out there because I like them a lot but can't bring myself to use them anymore. That is why I'm now looking for alternatives.

bmw 5x120.00mm wheels will bolt right onto your car. (chevy) with no hassles at all. the difference is only 6 thousands off. Many guys on the site are running bmw OEM wheels on their cars with very little mods if any, usually spacers dealing with backspacing.

look into it. there are several threads on the subject here in the wheel and tire section, do a search on bmw wheels and they should pop right up.

actually I tried and it didnt. youd have to search for """BMW""" for it to show up....

      but heres the thread https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1015

Hey thanks for posting that, Tony. I did the conversion and you're right; it's only about half a mm off. That's good to know.

By the way, does anyone know anything about Boze or ZE Forged wheels? They advertise on here, and I was looking at their website earlier. They seem to have some pretty decent wheels...anyone had any experience with them?

Boze makes some pretty nice wheels - but they specialize in the bling-bling dub's... Not familiar with ZE forged, but BC Forged makes some nice stuff too. That is Boyd Coddington's son's company. Also check out some of the new stuff that Boyd's is coming out with. Not so bad either, althought I've heard of some people having trouble with their service...

Also, Intro wheels are really nice, and their is a dealer on here ("PTS" i think?) who offers great prices - below MSRP.

Hey thanks for those links, 67duece. I really like the BC09 wheel from BCForged.com. I guess I just need to resign myself to the fact that if I want a good looking forged wheel I'm gonna spend $500 a wheel bare minimum. I guess it may be back to the TT2 unfortunately.

I hear you Deepblue. I am starting to understand why TT2's are so popular. I looked thru the Coddington stuff and saw some I could live with too. Who would have ever thought he would have "cheap" wheels when compared to others in the market a couple years ago.lol
