Saw these at the swap meet today. They are priced to MOVE and would work in either my truck or my Chevelle! I like the idea that I could use them either way I decide to go BUT I figure they might need a few parts and/or tweaking to get 'em working nice, not to mention new upholstery. Please help me figure out what they came out of. Here ya go:

Was 93 the last year of that body style? They are for sure from the 87-92ish range.

Those seats were put in fox body era Mustangs, Tbirds, cougars, etc., and I even think in Escort GTs. In any case, there's stuff out there to restore the, like from TMI:

Nice. Yeah, did a googly search of 93 Mustang Seats after the info given and came up with almost the exact set. http://www.bobshotrods.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/mustang-seat-belt-install-0861.jpg

I appreciate you guys' quick and helpful sharing of knowledge. I remembered, after the confirmation, that a friend of mine had a VERY clean teal LX coupe with these same seats, same color. Took a look at that link (thank you by the way) and wondered if they or anyone else might have any of the seat hardware IN CASE I need it.

My 2 cents... I think you could find something better. They are ok, but not great. When I had my 89 5.0, I always wanted to slap some Recaros in it to replace these.

I don't think it will be tough to find any missing hardware, either through one of the fox body resto suppliers or through one of the gazillion Mustang forums.

Yeah, I would think that too. I would have to...ugghhh...join...(struggle)...a...(sweating).. .Mustang forum. (horror music) LOL

Dipren, you're right but for the general style and shape I could NOT sleep knowing I passed up $25 seats. :)

And I'm sure I could find someone to make this:

Look and feel similar to this:

Mustang forums ain't so bad. I joined www.corral.net (http://www.corral.net) and for the most part have no problems with it (I say out of the lounge and the politics forums). For me doing a 5.0 powered car it made sence. If you don't want to join one let me know if I can help in any way!

It wouldn't really bother me. I keep saing I'm going to quit joining new forums but then I usually find a reason why I need to. Not a big Mustang or Ford fan has a little to do with it too but for the most part I appreciate any car as long as it's not junk.

If you don't mind scouring the site for the info, just see if there is any info on how to freshen up the seats. Maybe an upholsterer will know but whatever I can find to cut down the expense will keep me smiling. They seem to be mechanically sound, wiring harness is still attached. They need some lubricating and tightening in spots but nothing serious at all.

I think those are real Recaros... they look just like a many sets I've grabbed out of junkyards over the years. I still have a couple sets of laying around I think, including from a '79 Mustang Pace Car and from an E21 BMW. Great seats... especially when I could get them for $25/pair at the pull-a-part yard back in the day.

I had those fox body seats in an old El Camino... they left a lot to be desired.. I actually took them out in favor of putting the factory bench back in.

Yeah, the pretty set are the real ones. They're in a Camaro DSE built.

They can be cut up to look the seats above,New foam work on the inserts would do wonders.
