I'm planning on running 18's on my Skylark, 18 x 8 w/ 245/45/18 front and 18 x 9.5 w/ 275/40/18 rear (already have the tires). The car currently has 4 wheel drums which I plan to upgrade to 4 wheel disc. Obviously the stock little 14" wheels won't fit over 13" or 12" discs so I'll need to purchase the wheels first. How much difference in backspacing is there between the drums and something like either 4th gen camaro brakes or aftermarket Wilwoods? Enough to worry about or should I be okay running like 4.5" backspacing up front & 5" in the rear for both applications?

Discs will widen your track about 1/4-3/8"...

Does that backspacing sound right?

4.5" in front sounds about right,5.5" on the rears will probably work better than 5".
