      relay fuse block suggestions

65 GTO with an 02 LS1- I want to run 6 relays- a 50 amp for the ignition system, a 40 amp for the fuel pump ,2 30 amps for the cooling fans,a 20 amp for the power windows and one extra "just in case"- can anyone suggest a fuse block that can support this electrical load that is a one piece unit and can accept these size fuses or do I have to run individual wires and inline fuses to the relays? Just looking for a clean solution under the hood. thanks

50 amps for the ignition? 40 for the fuel pump? What are you using that needs that much power?

May have the wrong term there- the 50amps is to power the ecu/ ignition, this was the instructions from the company that did the wire harness (wait4meperformance), and its a typo on the fuel pump, should be 30,(aeromotive a1000)

check out susquehanna motorsports ( rallylights.com); Lots of good info, and excellent quality multi-socket relay banks if you want to neatly organize the various relays. First rate Hella relays.High amperage marine fuseblocks are available from Blue Sea (multiple vendors, bluesea.com). These are very high quality units. Centechwiring.com has a nice fuseblock, better in my opinion, than Painless.

I got these from .... I think ....an early 90s crown vic in the salvage yard for $10 bucks each. An 8 slot covered 30-40 amp fuse block and a 3 gang relay. The yards are gold mines these days.

I have a 65 too. I'm going to relay the headlights, some caddy horns, a fan and eventually want AC. I was thinking of installing them under the battery tray with an 8 gauge and 12 ga fusable link directly from the alt to the fuse box, then to the relay box or boxes. See that bolt? It's a large gauge wire lug. There's plenty of room on the pass side core support but that's not semi hidden like the driver's side battery tray area.

Are you using a speed control with that pump? It's a very large pump for a mildly built LS1.

One A1000 pump is good for close to 1200hp N/A. Too much pump can create fuel overheating problems.

Is your wiring company suggesting that you supply 50A total, then have individual fused circuits for each subsystem (ECM, ignition, O2 sensors, etc.)?
