Need Help, Which Trans?

Hey guys I need some valuable info. I can't figure out what transmission to run 700R4 or a 4l80e. I will give some info first. I am about to start my project (the build will be posted on here) a 83 Chevy s-10 ex-cab.

Motor: 350 block bored .30 over
Eagle 383 crank w/350 journals
Standard 350 rods
Vortec heads
appx:500-525 duration cam
Edlebrock air-gap vortec intake
750 holly double pumper carb.
Msd hei ignition

Rear: 3:73 rear
Debating doing a custom 4link w/air suspension or running a mono leaf set-up with some extras.



I can't figure out what tranny to install. I have a 89 s-10 with a 700r4 for a donor vehicle, but I am thinking the engine combo that I am doing should make about 400-450 hp/tq and I want to be able to drive this truck on 150 or more mile trips with no problems. I don't ever plan to race the truck on the track, but I would like to get into it every now and then and smoke the tires with out having to worry about braking something.

Thanks for all who help with this dilemma. Also I am not a Rockefeller so cost is always considered.
